Is KJOL on 24 hours, 7 days a week? Yes!
How much power does KJOL have? 620 AM operates at a licensed power of 5,000 watts during daylight hours, approximately 80 watts during nighttime hours. (See our coverage map on this site for daylight coverage contours.) 1400 AM operates in simulcast at 1,000 watts 24 hours a day. FM 99.5 in the Grand Valley operates at 250 Watts 24 hours a day. 91.9 FM in Montrose details are coming soon.
How can I receive the station’s signal? If you are in the Grand Valley you have two options!! FM 99.5 or AM 620! The FM power is still not able to penetrate some home stereos, so you may find 620 AM a better option. For outlying areas, 620 AM reaches from New Castle, CO to Green River, UT during the day! Regrettably, night-time power is reduced to about 80 watts, limiting reception to only the Grand Valley.
If you live in the Delta, listen to 1400 AM. This station covers Delta nicely 24 hours a day. In the outlying areas of 1400 AM, some effectiveness is lost at night due to signal interference.
In Montrose/Olathe tune in at 91.9 FM.
In Paonia/Hotchkiss tune in at 91.3 FM

Can KJOL get more power for nighttime operation? According to studies by a consulting engineer, it is possible to obtain a marginal increase in nighttime power. It is expensive and we must count that cost carefully.
What programs can I hear on the KJOL? Our format is about 60/40 talk to music with our overnights programs coming from the Moody Broadcasting Network. Many favorite teaching programs are heard throughout the broadcast day.
How can I get a program guide for KJOL? If you check out the ProgramSchedule pages on this site, you can learn more! You can call or e-mail us for a Program Guide and we will mail you one. They are also available at Christian bookstores on the Western Slope.
What kind of music does KJOL play? A variety of praise and worship along with a mix of old favorites and new.
Is there live, local programming? Yes. While we rely on an automation system to provide assistance, we are pleased to provide live local coverage throughout the daytime hours.
Does my radio affect my signal? Yes it does. The ability of your radio to pick up AM directly affects your audio quality. An expensive radio does not always mean you will receive best audio quality, because pricey radios can still be fitted with poor AM receivers. Where your radio is placed in your home/building can also affect audio. Sometimes turning your radio 90 degrees can actually make a big difference.
What about getting another FM Station? We have obtained a translator to broadcast at 99.5 FM in the Grand Valley and another full power FM station in Montrose at 91.9 FM. Another translator at 91.3 FM in Poania/Hotchkiss has just been added simulcasting our KJOL signal. We continue to look into translator options for various other locations. Please pray for God’s timing and guidance.
Who owns KJOL and KJYE? An independent non-profit organization was formed, called United Ministries. A board of directors have also been formed to oversee United Ministries. United Ministries is also the owner of WBMR-FM, Telford, PA.
