How Can I Support KJOL Radio?

KJOL and United Ministries are non-commercial and listener-supported. We are not affiliated with any one organization or church. We depend on individual listeners from many different organizations and denominations to keep us operational.

United Ministries is a non-profit corporation operating as a 501 (c) 3 organization under the authority of the Internal Revenue Service. This means all gifts are tax deductible; and we appreciate your prayerful investment in local Christian radio. Because of faithful supporters, we are able to dedicate our broadcast day to programming that honors God without commercial content, trusting Him to supply our needs through you.

There are a variety of ways you can support KJOL. If you're interested in supporting our ministry, browse the list below to see how you can contribute!

  • Prayer

Would you consider lifting up the ministry of KJOL through your prayer support?  Here are a few things that you can pray for on our behalf.

    • Protection for the staff.  We know that where God is working, the enemy is working too.  We have seen it many times in our own lives. Please pray for physical and spiritual protection for the staff at KJOL.
    • Protection over the equipment.  There are many “pieces to the puzzle” to what we do technology-wise, and being man-made equipment, it is all capable of failure at any time. Please pray that the Lord will sustain our method of delivery of the Gospel over the airwaves.
    • Energy.  Because the staff works hard behind the scenes, and also is working at odd hours of the day/night/morning, we could use prayer for the continued zeal of the Lord, His energy, and His passion in what we do.
    • Opportunity. Please pray for continual opportunities to expand this ministry, and the means to do so.  There are still many areas in the Western Slope that do not get Local Christian Radio; and we would like to offer the Gospel of Christ Jesus to all areas in Western Colorado and Eastern Utah, and even beyond.
    • Effectiveness. Please pray that hearts of believers will be uplifted, that they will grow in Christ, and be edified for holy living and service to God.  Pray that non-believers on the Western Slope will hear, understand, and accept the Gospel of Christ, and be changed through the work of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
    • Direction. Local Christian radio seeks to be led by God in all matters, small and large.  Pray that God will clearly direct the leadership and staff of KJOL, that we might honor Him through our service, and minister effectively to the glory of God.  Pray for God’s direction in the words that go over the air…that they will comfort and encourage the broken. And pray that in everything we do, we will do it unto and for the Lord.
    • Integrity.  Please pray that the staff and leadership of KJOL will live lives of purity, that God will empower them to do so, and that they will be bold in proclaiming the truth of God.  Pray for the personal growth of each employee.  Pray for integrity and holiness in every aspect of what we do, from the music, to announcer breaks, to the teaching, finances, and the behind the scenes operations.

If you would be willing to commit to becoming a KJOL Prayer Partner, please email dave@kjol.org.  And thanks for your intercession on our behalf!

  • Church Partnerships

One of the goals of local Christian radio is to provide “Quality Christian radio programming to the Western Slope of Colorado and Eastern Utah, in support of the Body of Christ and the local Church.” As we support local churches, we would love the local church to support us as well!

How churches can partner with KJOL:

    • In Prayer › Your church can commit to regularly pray for this ministry on a number of different levels.  Whether at business meetings, in Bible Studies, Sunday School Groups, or church services, KJOL needs continual prayer.
    • Financially › Your church can join other area churches to support the broadcasting of the Word of God and the Good News of the Gospel over the airwaves in the Western Slope.  KJOL is a non-profit 501(C)3, non-commercial radio station.  This means we are sustained through the generosity of our listeners, local churches, and business people. Your church can make a monthly, annual, or one-time gift to KJOL or even adopt us as part of your missions team.

    Questions on supporting KJOL financially?

For more information on becoming a Church Partner, or to see a list of budgeted expenses, contact Station Manager, Dave Andrews, at dave@kjol.org.

Why should your church support KJOL financially?

    • KJOL is a solid, Biblically based ministry. We are all about Jesus, and His truth that comes from the Word of God.  We encourage you to browse our statement of faith for more.
    • KJOL shares your church’s goals.  KJOL encourages daily and weekly involvement in your local church.  We are not a substitute, but come alongside the local church to uplift, teach, and encourage each congregation when they are outside the church walls.  We both seek to bless the saints, and reach the lost.  For more on KJOL’s goals, see our missions statement.
    • KJOL reaches many every day.  Research shows that a very high percentage of people still listen to their radios each and every day…as much as 92% of Americans over the age of 18 listen every week.  And in general, 25% of those who listen to Christian radio, are non-Christians.  The potential to reach the lost through Local Christian Radio is exciting.
    • KJOL bears fruit.  Matthew 7:17 says “Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.”  We constantly hear from listeners who relate stories of how they have been encouraged through the music and teaching, taught important life lessons from the Scripture, and uplifted during tough times in their life.  And yes, from time to time, we even hear the exciting stories of how non-believers turn to KJOL, find the gospel of Christ, and accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior!  We know that the Lord changes lives through this ministry in the Western Slope.
    • KJOL provides an outlet for the church.  We aid the church , providing a place to uplift their pastors and congregations through our programming, as well as by highlighting local church events through free on-air Public Service Announcements.
    • KJOL does not compete with your church.  KJOL is very clear that the programs on this station are not an alternative to weekly attendance and participation at a local church.  Rather, Local Christian Radio, encourages local regular church attendance for individual fellowship, ministry, growth, and accountability.   Also, KJOL does not compete financially.  We make it also very clear while fundraising, that we do not seek support that takes away from the church; listener’s financial obligations are to the church first, and then to KJOL.  We are an extension of the church, and want to honor it.
    • KJOL needs it. Because KJOL is listener supported, we could not be on the air without people supporting their local Christian radio station.  And since our station cannot exist on the generous gifts of a faithful few, we need a number of churches and individuals to get involved.  This means each and every gift is important to keep this station alive and growing.
    • KJOL is excited and growing!  We are excited about Christian radio ministry!  We see the Lord moving in exciting ways to grow this ministry to Western Colorado and Eastern Utah.  It’s quite fascinating to see how God is leading!
  • Corporate Partnerships/Matching Gifts

An especially productive means to invest in local Christian radio is through “Matching Corporate Gifts.” Most people who are eligible for matching gifts don’t know that their employer provides the opportunity. Many corporations (usually larger entities) will match your gifts to qualified non-profit organizations. Often, they will match 100% of your gift amount.

United Ministries and KJOL qualify for most Corporate Matching Gift programs. United Ministries is a non-profit, educational organization and a 501 (c) 3 corporation under the rules established by the Internal Revenue Service. Your gifts are tax-deductible.

You can simply contact your employer to see if they do matching contributions to non-profit; or if you would like to learn more about how you can maximize your gifts to local Christian radio, please call Station Manager Dave Andrews at (970) 254-5565 or toll free at 1 (866) 532-5565. You can also email him here.

  • Underwriting/Business Partners

KJOL is supported by various local businesses around our listening area and beyond through an underwriting opportunity. While this is not advertising, it is an opportunity to lift up ministry through monthly financial support.

To learn more about our underwriting opportunities, contact Ken Andrews at (970) 254-5565 or send him an email.

  • Estate Planning

Do you have a heart for the future generations?  One day, we will go to our reward with Christ, but those that remain behind still need to come to know Him and the truth of His Word.  You can make it possible to get out the Word after you are gone, through estate planning.  Would you consider including the ministry of KJOL in your will?

This should be a prayerful, thoughtful decision.

If you would like more information about estate planning, you can contact Ken Andrews at 970-254-5565, or ken@kjol.org.

  • Volunteer

The announcers and staff at KJOL are busy busy busy behind the scenes, and we have more exciting opportunities arise than we can accommodate for with our small staff. Whether tending a table at community events, putting together mailings at the office, distributing program-guides at businesses and churches, or answering phones, we could use a few good volunteers to help with the leg-work behind the scenes.

If you would like to contribute your time to the ministry of KJOL, we would love to add you to our list of volunteers! To be added to the KJOL Volunteer List, email dave@kjol.org, or simply call 970-254-5565 with your name and contact information. Thanks!
