POST-SHARATHONHow Are Things Looking?

"For All You’ve Done" was our theme this year for Sharathon as we desired to remind you of what the Lord has done through your gifts in the past and is continuing to do.  By God's grace, we hope that we will continue to see Him do awesome works on our behalf as we minister together this year. Our need of $180,000 has yet to be fulfilled, though we are grateful and humbled by the way so many took part in Sharathon to invest in another year of ministry on the Western Slope. We are trusting that the Lord, who knows our need, will ultimately supply according to His riches and good pleasure.

God is doing exciting things through this local outreach!  Please consider how you might play a part!  If you would like to support KJOL financially this next year, please send your name, address, phone number, and the amount to info@kjol.org today!  Thanks!

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER & CONCERT OF PRAYER

Click here for an event near you today and pray!  Also, join millions of others across the nation as you tune in for the Concert of Prayer tonight and tomorrow night at 7 only on KJOL!

PROGRAM CHANGES- Chris Fabry Live!, in Context, & Evening Praise Start May 5th!

If you like discussing current events and how they intersect with your Christian walk, join us for a new interactive program from Moody Broadcasting called Chris Fabry Live!  Chris invites callers to join him live on the air weekday afternoons between 1:00 and 2:00. You’ll enjoy his sense of humor, his featured guests, and a few surprises thrown in for fun.

Tune in for sound Bible teaching – now with fresh illustrations and real-life applications.  Dr. Easley grapples with scriptural truth verse-by-verse, and challenges us to live for Christ at the office, at home and in the church.  Listen for inContext with Michael and his new co-host Bob Lepine (of Family Life Today) Monday thru Friday at 5:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.

A Note from Dave Andrews on Evening Praise @ 7 PM Starting May 5th!

With the historic and respected ministry of Donald Cole and Open-line retiring, KJOL will be using the 7 o’clock evening hour for a time to “unwind” from the pressures of the day.  It will feature great praise music, devotional thoughts and much more; and it will be called Evening Praise

The music will tend to be a little softer, but still the same fresh sound you have come to enjoy.  Whether you play it as background dinner music, listen to focus the heart, or as a tool for personal worship, we simply hope you will join me for a great time weeknights from 7-8.  Evening Praise…only on Local Christian Radio, KJOL.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA- Prince Caspian Starts May 12th @ 2 PM

Peter, Lucy, Susan, Edmund - and the magnificent lion, Aslan - are back in "Focus on the Family Radio Theatre's" thrilling dramatization of Prince Caspian.  This enchanting audio drama tells the tale of an evil king who threatens the life of Narnia's rightful king - the young Prince Caspian.  Hear it before you see it, Monday- Thursday, May 12-15th @ 2 PM and be listening for your chance to win your own copy of the Radio Theatre version of Prince Caspian only on KJOL starting Friday, May 9th!

MBI PASTORS’ CONFERENCE –  May 20–23rd @ 7 PM

We’re pre-empting Evening Praise for four nights in the latter half of the month to bring you some top notch teaching.  Don’t miss coverage of the MBI Pastors' Conference 2008.  These will be one night, tape delayed broadcasts, featuring the following teachers:

Tuesday, May 20 -- Michael Easley

Wednesday, May 21 -- Alistair Begg

Thursday, May 22 -- David Jeremiah

Friday, May 23 -- Tony Evans

FROM THE MANAGER’S DESK- Still a Ways to Go…

Sharathon 2008 – our annual three-day fundraising event – is in the rear view mirror for another year, but we still have a ways to go to meet our full need of $180,000. We have seen a significant jump in faith promises, and now are at nearly 86% of the need committed. It is very important to see the remaining 13% come in, since we are talking about a definite need to cover our operating expenses for 620 and 1400. Opportunities for new and improved coverage are waiting to be implemented too, so your participation really does count! If you have any questions about how you can become an investor in local Christian radio, call me at 254-5565 or email ken@kjol.org.

Just this past week we applied to the Federal Communications Commission for a new AM construction permit for Glenwood Springs. Once granted, we can proceed to raise funds and construct. No timetable set yet, but your prayers are appreciated! This project joins our plans for new FM’s in Montrose and Olathe. And, we’re looking at other opportunities too. Yep, keep prayin’!

Our new transmitter for 620 AM has arrived, waiting for a few minor parts to come it so we can proceed with installation. This is an exciting development, to say the least. Just as exciting, all the permits are now in hand for our new FM translator for the Grand Valley. Most equipment is in hand too…but…we’re still waiting for a few final pieces to arrive.

As you can see, we have a very full plate. God has been so gracious to us! Our thanks to you too for praying for, investing in and listening to local Christian radio.

By His Grace and Mercy,

Ken Andrews, Manager

KURT'S MUSIC NOTES- A Dozen New Albums for Every Musical Taste

Here's a list of new music available in stores.  There's a wide variety of styles for every taste!

Jaci Velasquez

Jaci's first new album in 3 years, and her first since marrying Nic Gonzales (lead singer for Salvador) and giving birth to Zealand David Gonzales last November.

Delirious

For more than ten years, the WOW series of albums has featured popular songs from different labels.  Starting with this release, WOW albums will (apparently) just have numbers.  There will three single albums each year, featuring 15 "hit" songs plus 3 or 4 new and upcoming artists.

Gateway Worship

"Wake Up"

New worship from the large Dallas church which brought us "The Revelation Song"

Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir

"The Live Experience CD & DVD"

Never before seen "live" performances by the late Keith Green, from TV appearances, festivals, concerts and more.  Also included is the 60 minute documentary Your Love Broke Through which tells Keith’s life-story from his early days as a child recording star to the spiritual journey that led him to faith in Christ.

Avalon

"Another Time, Another Place: Timeless Christian Classics"

Avalon pays tribute to songs such as "God Is In Control" (Twila Paris), "For the Sake of the Call" (Steven Curtis Chapman), "El-Shaddai" (Amy Grant, Michael Card), and the title track (Sandi Patti).
