This is a subtitle for your new post
The staff and I step into the month of February with a little trepidation but leaning on God. Coming out of maybe the busiest year in my memory, the pattern continues into this month. We look ahead to some challenging projects and hard anniversaries. We would love your prayers.
We continue to work on our automation upgrade project; and the hard part hasn’t even started yet. We have seen weeks of delay on the project that will eventually run everything you hear on the air. After one very expensive delay, we hope that we can do the main portion of the work and maybe even complete it in February. After that, our engineer will be visiting sites to improve line delivery security to tower locations, and also installing replacements for our antiquated processors at AM sites. Through all of that, our staff will continue to perform our usual behind-the-desk and on-air duties with the end goal of ministry to the Western Slope.
While we will be very busy in the month of February, the KJOL staff will also be feeling the effects of personal loss a little more. Not only did BOTH of our weekend announcers lose a parent recently, but Ken Andrews and I are also coming up on the one year anniversary of losing Wendy Andrews, my mother and Ken’s wife. Today actually would have been her birthday. Also, on the 9th , it will be the anniversary of her transition into Life and Life Abundant.
On the 14th , it would have been Ken and Wendy’s 50th wedding anniversary. And in case you were wondering, yes, Ken must be a romantic with a Valentine’s Day wedding all those years ago! Please pray for the staff of KJOL as February will be a difficult month for at least half of us.
That said, I WOULD be remiss in mentioning Valentine’s Day coming up. In my single days, I used to call it “the accursed holiday.” I better make it crystal clear I don’t feel that way anymore (in case my wife Susun reads this hahaha)! Whether you are going through loss, loneliness, love, lice, or lawyers…God loves you more than you can possibly imagine! His love isn’t flawed with sin, and it isn’t conditional. His love comes from Who He is and is based on His goodness, holiness, and beauty...not ours. In Revelation 2, Christ urges the mature church of Ephesus to “remember their first Love.” He desires a relationship with us, but also our heart!
That’s what I want to encourage you with this month. Blessings!
In Him,
Dave Andrews,
KJOL Station Manager
