Meet the Staff
Zane Mathews
Public Affairs Director
Morning Show & Mornings Host
Zane began his radio career 40 years ago at a Christian station in Springfield, Missouri while earning a bachelor’s degree at Evangel University. He has spent the last 20 years doing secular radio in Grand
Junction. As the son of a minister, he’s excited about the opportunity to join the staff at KJOL in spreading the good news of the Gospel across the Western Slope.
When he can find spare
time, you’ll find Zane on the golf course, running on the Riverfront Trail, watching football and
basketball, listening to music, or just having a cup of coffee with his wife.
Dave Andrews
Station Manager
Mid-Day Host
Dave started in radio as a part-time employee at KJOL in 2005, moved onto full time, and now has over 19 years of ministry with this station behind him. He holds a bachelors degree from CCU. Dave bears the distinction of being the only employee raised from birth by former manager Ken Andrews (he is his son). Married to his beautiful wife Susun, they have four young but extremely cute children (they take after their mom), Elias, Ellianna, Abigail, and Zion. When he is not watching his kiddos, changing diapers, or cooking for his family, Dave enjoys the shooting sports, reloading, hunting, reading, coffee, a good movie, traveling, and spending time with his wife.
Kurt Neuswanger
Music Director
Afternoon Drive Host
Kurt has been with KJOL since 1990, during which time he has played Adventures in Odyssey approximately 9000 times! He has also been hosting the “contemporary music program” on Saturday nights for so long that the original songs are now “classic” rather than contemporary”!
His broadcast career began in 1979 at KTWR-SW (shortwave) and KTWG-AM in Guam owned by Trans World Radio. He has worked at various radio stations in Grand Junction since 1985. Kurt enjoys camping and hiking with his dogs.
Ken Andrews
VP, United Ministries
Evening Praise Host
Ken has been well known as KJOL's Station Manager for most of its history. Recently "semi-retiring," he still works part time on-air and consulting. It is safe to say that this ministry wouldn't exist without his dedicated effort and superb leadership through the years. Ken has worked in Christian Radio off and on since 1973, and in Grand Junction since 1985. Prior to entering the ministry of Christian Radio, he worked for several years in a variety of “secular radio” formats. Married to his wife, Wendy, for 49 years before she passed in 2025, they had four grown children and 12 grandchildren. When not working, Ken prefers to be found hunting, shooting, teaching concealed carry, or hanging out with family - and especially those grandkids!
Tina Snover
Weekend Announcer
Saturday and Sunday Host
Tina has been a frequent guest on KJOL to talk about the ministry of FCA. She is now excited to be on the KJOL team and get to shine the Light of Jesus every weekend through the radio. Tina, her husband and daughters have lived in the Grand Valley since 2012 and very often she can be found coaching or cheering on coaches and athletes at a sporting event. She still also ministers through the ministry of FCA and enjoys pickleball, hiking, concerts, and taking care of her family.
Doug Shellabarger
Weekend Announcer
Saturdays & Sundays Host
Stepping into a tiny nook in the back of the Evangelical Free church over 40 years ago, Doug became one of the original voices of KJOL. Back then, armed with only turntables and reel-to-reel tapes and a mic, he spun vinyl and shared the word. After a seven-year stint, he left the cozy radio cave to go to school. Now, he’s back where it all started, proving that some people just can’t quit a good record collection and a microphone. He’s thrilled to be spending his weekends praising God with you all.
Martha Brabaek
Administrative Assistant
Martha and her husband of 30 years relocated to Grand Junction with their two daughters in 2014. She is a Texas native and has a background in marketing and holds a degree in business. She loves serving at her church in youth ministry. Martha spent many years teaching Sunday School at her home church in west Texas and was a long time AWANA leader.
Her favorite activities are Bible studies and Biblical creation research. She also is fluent in Spanish, enjoys cooking, and the great outdoors.
Bethany Chambers

Social Media & Admin Assistant
Bethany has called Grand Junction home since 1985, and grew up listening to KJOL. She has a degree in Theology from Calvary Chapel Bible College and has served alongside her husband as the youth leaders at their church since 2007. With a background in concert and event planning, she is excited to continue to use her gifts for God's glory, ministering to His people in Western Colorado.
Bethany and her husband, Jon, have been married for twenty years and have two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching and playing all kinds of sports, paddleboarding, going to concerts, playing board games, baking cakes, and travelling to anywhere with a beach.
