Exciting Days!
We are so blessed to have a number of new listeners lately; and we are blessed to have some listeners who have been with us since the very start! If you were a listener during “the old days” before the KJOL radio network was sold back in 2000, KJOL was a thriving ministry and a staple in the Christian community around the Western Slope. Part of that ministry…we used to put on Christian concerts at an affordable price for believers on the Western Slope. When our network was sold, it all went away literally over night.
Nonetheless, God has been so faithful to retain this ministry and to also slowly grow it once again. We have officially reached a new milestone that we haven’t seen in years. For the first time in roughly three decades, we poised to bring a Christian artist to town!
When considering the artist, we looked for someone with spiritual depth and a Christlike heart. We wanted the concert to be affordable for anyone and everyone who would like to go; and we want this to be a true ministry event where the presence of the Lord would be apparent, where the body of Christ will be unified…and His Gospel preached to our community.
So, after months of work behind the scenes, it is my great honor to announce KJOL will be presenting Grammy and Dove award winning singer songwriter Laura Story in concert!
You might know her name...KJOL has probably played over a dozen Laura Story songs throughout the years, including Indescribable (Chris Tomlin borrowed it too) and the song that won her a Grammy and multiple Dove awards, “Blessings.” You might also recognize song titles like Faithful God, Mighty To Save, Bless The Lord, Immortal Invisible, Brand New Day, Till I Met You, Come Unto Jesus, Extraordinary…and her latest, Hello Unknown.
Now for the details of the KJOL Community Christmas Concert, “The Gift of Christmas.” It will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 7pm (doors open at 6pm) at Life Community Church in Grand Junction. Now here’s the kicker. It is 100% totally and completely free to our community while seats last! Our gift to you. Thank you for being a part of our KJOL listening family. Please register sooner rather than later as there is very limited seating. You can register right here. UPDATE: all seats are full...join the waiting list now by emailing bethany@kjol.org.
One more thing…I want to say welcome to our new employee, Bethany Chambers. She is our new Admin and Social Media gal…and it just so happens she came from a large concert promotions group and has “Extraordinary” concert coordinating experience. Another one of God’s “Blessings.” Meet Bethany here, and say “Hello Unknown” to her at bethany@KJOL.org.
Merry Christmas early!
-Dave Andrews
KJOL Station Manager
PS- We are currently looking for concert sponsors, so if you or your business are interested, please email me, dave@kjol.org. Or if you would simply like to help provide this concert and other concerts like this in the future, here is a link for that. God bless you!
