The band Third Day has released a special 25th anniversary edition of their original self-titled album from 1996. The album is fondly known as the “bus album” because it featured a vintage bus on the album cover with a picture of a Georgia peach in one window (Third Day is from Georgia). The anniversary edition includes some exclusive live versions of the original songs.
The album featured the band’s first radio singles “Forever,” “Blackbird” and “Nothing at All.” None of those songs made it to the airwaves of KJOL, but the live version of “Consuming Fire” (their best song!) has been played on KJOL on Saturday nights since 2001. (You can see a very young-looking Mac Powell on the original version of “Consuming Fire.”)
During the ensuing 25 years, Third Day sold 7 million albums and had 28 number one radio hits.
If you would like a piece of nostalgia, you can buy the album in vinyl, CD, or even cassette. But if you want the cute little keychain, you’ll have to buy the entire $125 package!
Third Day disbanded in 2018 after playing their final concert on June 27, 2018, at
Red Rocks.
Mac Powell continues to record solo music. His latest release is New Creation from 2021.
